Teaching Character Education? Showing gratitude has been proven to increase long-term well-being, improve health, relationships, emotions and help us bounce back from stressful experiences. With the significant increase in stress and anxiety among our young people, it is more important than ever that as teachers, we are catering to our students’ emotional needs in the classroom. This Gratitude Journal is the ideal way to help our students focus on the good aspects of their life and to appreciate their blessings – every one of us has something to be thankful for and this journal will be sure to highlight it! The journal contains 52 prompts, one for each week of the year. Each prompt is unique and encourages reflection on a wide range of life experiences, allowing for much more creativity and diversity in thinking and responses. It is not labelled by month or date so can be started at any time in the year – new starts don’t have to only begin on January 1st, and gratitude isn't just for Thanksgiving! You can let students take them home to complete as a private activity, or it can be done in school maybe at the start of the week as a Monday Morning Meeting. You will receive both a PRINTABLE and DIGITAL version to suit your needs! The digital one is ideal for opening up on Google Slides as it can be completed and looked at on any device, whenever and wherever! P.S. It’s also great for teachers too: we can all take time to have an attitude of gratitude!

Are you concerned about bullying in your classroom? Bullying is sadly something that happens on a daily basis and most children will be affected by it in some way, shape or form during their school lives. By the time our youngsters are teenagers, bullying takes on new forms and can leave lasting negative effects on their physical and emotional well-being. I believe we need to spend time teaching our students how to recognise bullying and how to deal with it so that we can help them develop into resilient and assertive individuals to help them cope with adulthood. In order to ensure these important skills can be integrated into our busy timetables, this resource has been designed to make it as easy to deliver as possible! It includes a structured PowerPoint that guides the class through discussions about bullying and how to deal with it and develop assertiveness. It can be taught as a whole unit in PSHE or divided up over a few weeks to deliver to tutor groups. No prior knowledge or experience from you is required! On top of this, the PowerPoint text is EDITABLE so you can modify the content to suit your students’ needs, should you wish. Also included are graphic organizer printables which are supplementary to the PowerPoint: they’re not a requirement, but they work as a helpful tool for students to record their thoughts in an aesthetically pleasing way that can then be used for wall displays etc. You will also find a set of discussion task cards for students to discuss possible scenarios they may come across: these can be printed off for each group of students, or they can be used in whole class discussion – it is up to you! Product includes: • 22 slide PowerPoint • 14 printables of detailed teachers' notes and graphic organizers • 6 scenarios to analyse Students will learn: • To identify what bullying is • To analyse common situations and discuss which are considered bullying and why • The reasons why people might bully others • The impact bullying has on others • Ways they can respond to bullies • How to be assertive • How to deal with bullying • Support networks they can turn to for support • A final pep-talk! Cyber Bullying Awareness: Posters, Task Cards & Activities

(1)
Do you want to educate your students about the dangers of Cyber Bullying? It is a rising problem among teenagers and young people in this age of social media, so this resource will offer your students the opportunity to consider the dangers and effects of cyber bullying by encouraging them to discuss and reflect on realistic scenarios. I have used this resource on different groups of students from year 7-10 and it has proven effective for all ages. It’s interesting that each age group has brought out its own conversations from this resource. I find it shocking how many young people (especially those below the required age of 13 to even have a social media account) are suffering from cyber bullying online and don’t yet have the skills to handle it. This resource has made a significant difference to my students and I can only hope they go on to spread the word to others! I hope that my resources save you hours and hours of time: something we always sacrifice so much of as teachers. ❤
